As you all know I have been going to the Dominican Republic on service trips for a number of years. We as a parish have adopted St Francis of Assisi parish in El Factor and Sister Lisa has spoken with us here in Harrisburg. We also have a strong connection with Ricky Rodriguez, a young man who was in a motorcycle accident and now paints with his mouth to support himself and his family. Ricky died on Thursday night from respiratory failure. He was an inspiration to me and to so many. He was always smiling and joking. He once told me that he does not want to be able to paint with his hands because who would buy his paintings and how would he support his family. May we all be so blessed to accept whatever hardships come our way and turn them into blessing. Please keep Ricky and his family in your prayers.
