Notice from Bishop Sheridan (September 4, 2008) :
There is a church, recently established in Fountain, called Mary Help of Christians Traditional Roman Catholic Church. Bishop Sheridan wants all Catholics to know that this community is not part of the Diocese of Colorado Springs, nor is it in communion with the Catholic Church (despite its name). For this reason, the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Matrimony celebrated there are invalid. No Catholic should ever associate him/herself with a community that is outside the communion of the Roman Catholic Church. Any Catholic who wishes to celebrate the sacraments in the extraordinary form of the Roman Rite (sometimes called the “Tridentine” Rite) may do so licitly at Immaculate Conception Parish in Security.
